Juan Dawson

Juan Dawson is an attorney in the firm’s Atlanta office where he helps guide clients through commercial and business litigation. Juan also defends clients in state and federal courts focusing on defending lawyers, accountants, and other professionals against negligence and malpractice claims. Juan has experience in a variety of legal proceedings including offensive and defensive discovery, drafting motions and pleadings, and providing oral advocacy on behalf of clients. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Juan represented energy and utility clients before state and federal regulatory bodies. He also has experience with the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA), the Federal Power Act, and other state and federal energy policies.

Juan maintains an active pro bono practice where he volunteers with legal aid organizations to support veterans and medically-needy individuals in Georgia who seek to obtain a qualified income trust.

More Than Stites & Harbison

Prior to law school, Juan served the American public as a Congressional Legislative Intern with a current United States Senator. Additionally, Juan completed an internship at the White House working in the Office of Presidential Correspondence.

Upon finishing his White House internship, Juan was an antitrust paralegal for a firm in Washington, D.C. and was later selected as an AmeriCorps Fellow in Chicago, IL.

During law school, Juan completed a judicial externship for the Honorable C. Darnell Jones, II in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He also completed a legal externship in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. After law school, Juan joined a firm in Atlanta where he advised clients on matters related to energy regulation.

Juan and his wife reside in Atlanta. Outside of practicing law, he enjoys playing tennis and basketball, and visiting national parks.
