Stites & Harbison promotes five attorneys in 2017

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Stites & Harbison, PLLC announced today that five attorneys have been promoted within the law firm effective January 2017. The new Members (Partners) include:

Amy Baker (Atlanta office – Real Estate & Banking Service Group). Baker’s practice focuses primarily on commercial real estate transactions and secured lending. Her practice includes the representation of national, regional and local financial institutions in commercial loan transactions for hotels, restaurants, shopping centers and medical facilities. She also has extensive experience in closing U.S. Small Business Administration 7(a) government-guaranteed loans.

Katrina Miller (Louisville, Ky., office – Business Litigation Service Group). Miller’s litigation practice primarily focuses on defending her financial services clients against claims brought under common law and state and federal consumer protection statutes. She is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Florida. Miller is also co-chair of the firm’s Financial Institutions Litigation sub-group.

Adam Smith (Lexington, Ky., office – Construction Service Group). Smith’s litigation practice is focused on representing owners, contractors and subcontractors in construction disputes. He has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation in federal and state trial and appellate courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings.

Sarah Cronan Spurlock (Louisville, Ky., office – Health Care Service Group and Privacy & Data Security Group). Spurlock advises clients on a wide range of health care issues, including health information privacy and security laws and data breach prevention and response. Her practice also includes regulatory and transactional health care law and health care litigation. She is co-chair of the firm’s Privacy & Data Security Group.

Rebecca Weis (Louisville, Ky., office – Employment Law Service Group). Weis’ practice is primarily devoted to labor and employment litigation and counseling. Her practice also includes general civil and business litigation. In addition to her litigation practice, Weis drafts and assists with the enforcement of business contracts, employment policies, handbooks and contracts, and non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements.
