Part-Time Intellectual Property Law Clerk* - Alexandria, Va. office
Stites & Harbison, PLLC, a full-service law firm, has a great opportunity for a current law student seeking practical and hands-on experience in intellectual property law. The firm has an established intellectual property practice and is seeking candidates for a law clerk position on a part-time basis to support the firm’s Alexandria, VA office. Responsibilities will include preparing and filing new patent applications and other prosecution documents, as well as supporting the intellectual property practice.
This is not an associate position, and established attorneys are not eligible.

Legal Assistant - Atlanta, Ga. office
Stites & Harbison PLLC, a full-service law firm, is looking for a full-time Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to our busy attorneys in Atlanta, Georgia.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting of standard pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, and other documents.
- Federal/State/Appellate court e-filings.
- Document management including filing, indexing, scanning, saving, and organizing.
- Publishing conflict checks, processing new matter requests, drafting engagement letters, and updating client and contact lists.
- Reviewing/releasing daily time entries for assigned attorneys utilizing Firm approved narrative guidelines.
- Managing client billing matters; reviewing and editing pre-bills in collaboration with designated billing coordinator.

IT Senior Systems Engineer* - Lexington/Louisville office
Stites & Harbison, PLLC is a full-service law firm looking for a full-time Senior IT Systems Engineer to join its firm-wide Technology Group. Based in Lexington or Louisville, this role is responsible for providing infrastructure leadership and technical expertise for our IT department, ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our IT infrastructure. This includes Windows servers, Azure, Intunes, Active Directory, Windows desktops, software deployments, storage and networking systems.
The successful candidate will be supported by a team of professionals and share technical leadership with the Data and Workflow Senior Systems Engineer.
Please note that this is NOT a remote position and only candidates who are able to work from either the firm’s Lexington, KY or Louisville, KY offices will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations, manage problems, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Manage large enterprise projects, such as data center migrations and application rollouts.
- Oversee and optimize IT infrastructure, including networking, telephones, storage, and helpdesk support.
- Design and manage a scalable cloud infrastructure using major cloud services.
- Establish policies and technical standards for IT platforms.

Requirements
- Experience as a senior systems engineer (legal space preferred).
- Working on-site at either the Louisville or Lexington offices is required.
- In-depth knowledge of the Windows operating system.
- Broad knowledge of related technologies, including storage, capacity management, performance management, hardware lifecycle management, asset management, security, scripting/programming, patch/configuration management, networking, Linux, mobile devices, and Mac OS.
- Project management experience.

Electronic Billing Specialist* - Louisville, Ky. Office
Stites & Harbison, PLLC, a full-service law firm would like to add a highly qualified Electronic Billing Specialist to our Client Billing team in Louisville, Kentucky. The successful candidate will be responsible for the handling of the firm’s ebilling operations. This position works closely with other Accounting & Finance staff, especially with Billing Coordinators, the Billing & Collections Manager and Accounting Managers nationally. This is a non-exempt, full-time position with excellent benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Electronic Billing Supervisor in the set-up and implementation of new ebilling, including obtaining all necessary timekeeper billing rates and ensure client references have been established. Handling of the ebilling implementation will require coordination with the client, ebilling vendor (if necessary), the Principal Billing Partner or other attorneys.
- Review of any client Outside Counsel Guidelines to establish and set up new clients in eBilling Hub and the firm’s financial accounting system.
- Monitor eBilling Hub and all ebilling vendor sites in order to conduct continual and thorough account audits to resolve all invoice rejections or inability to upload invoices, in a timely manner. This requires close coordination with the Billing Coordinator and keeping the Electronic Billing Manager.
- Actively participate in and assist the Electronic Billing Supervisor in meetings and training sessions with Accounting & Finance staff on all aspects of ebilling.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to Accounting & Finance management on process improvements and reviews of ebilling policy and procedures. Also, research and respond to client, attorney or staff inquiries.

- Show tenacity and drive in following up with Billing Partners and others in order to resolve client billing issues and ensure invoices are approved and billed.

- Review prebills and follow-up with attorneys to ensure that entries are posted to correct matters.
- Editing and translating prebills into bills utilizing the 3E system.
