Demetrius Holloway Earns 2023 Trailblazer Award
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Louisville Bar Association’s (LBA) Diversity & Inclusion Committee recently announced Stites & Harbison, PLLC attorney Demetrius O. Holloway as the recipient of the 2023 Justice William E. McAnulty Jr. Trailblazer Award. He will be honored at the annual Trailblazer Award Ceremony to be held in February.
The Trailblazer Award was established in 2003 to honor Justice William E. McAnulty Jr., the first African American to serve on the Kentucky Supreme Court. The award recognizes those who have made exceptional efforts to promote racial and ethnic diversity within the legal profession.

Holloway is a Member (Partner) based in Stites & Harbison’s Louisville, Ky., office. He is a member of the Employment Service Group and an affiliated member of the Business Litigation and the Torts & Insurance Practice Service Groups. As a seasoned litigator with over 22 years of experience, Holloway represents employers in the defense of employment-based claims asserted under both Kentucky and federal law. His experience includes defending civil actions filed in both state and federal court, as well as defending against administrative actions before state and federal administrative agencies.
Holloway stays active in a variety of leadership roles. He serves as Chair of Stites & Harbison’s Diversity Committee and is a member of the Firm Recruiting Committee. Outside of the firm, he serves on numerous boards, including the Louisville Urban League and Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana. He is also past Chair of the LBA’s Labor & Employment Section and a member of the LBA Diversity Committee.
