Claire Emiko Wells Joins Stites & Harbison’s Lexington Office

LEXINGTON, Ky.—Stites & Harbison, PLLC welcomes Claire Emiko Wells to the Lexington, Ky., office. She joins the firm as an attorney in the Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group. Her practice will focus on a wide variety of litigation matters, including but not limited to products liability, toxic and mass torts, professional liability and contract disputes.

Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Wells was a judicial law clerk for Judge Karen K. Caldwell, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky (2025-26). Previously, she was a judicial law clerk for Magistrate Judge Regina S. Edwards, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky (2024-25).

Wells earned her J.D. from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law in 2024. During law school, she was an articles editor for the Kentucky Law Journal, Vol. 112, and was a member of the American Inns of Court. Wells served the Student Public Interest Law Foundation as a pro bono coordinator and vice president of special events. She also served as a student attorney for both the University of Kentucky Legal Clinic and the Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Clinic. Additionally she served as an intern for the Kentucky Innocence Project, Legal Aid of the Bluegrass, the Department of Public Advocacy – Lexington Trial Office and Maxwell Street Legal Clinic. Prior to law school, Wells was an AmeriCorps Homes for All member serving at Community Action Council in Lexington, Ky.

Outside of the firm, Wells is a member of the Kentucky and Fayette County Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice in Kentucky.
