Bill Geisen Earns 2023 Diversity Law Institute Award
COVINGTON, Ky.โThe Diversity Law Institute has selected Stites & Harbison, PLLC attorney Bill Geisen as the recipient of the 2023 Diversity Award.
The Diversity Law Institute (DLI) is a nonprofit international association of lawyers, law firms and companies committed to the advancement of diversity within the legal profession and the respective systems of justice represented among its members. Its purpose and mission is to advance the interests of women and minorities in the profession and to aid in the administration of justice wherever possible.
The Diversity Award recognizes members of DLI who champion diversity, equity and inclusion while promoting equal opportunity both in their workplace and in their community with a commitment to inclusion no matter someoneโs race, sexuality, religion or culture. Geisen received the Diversity Award on November 2, 2023, at the Annual Conference of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, at which DLI participated and co-sponsored, for addressing racism and discrimination in the construction industry in his presentation, โWhy Arenโt We Living MLKโs Dream?โ
Geisen is a Member (Partner) of Stites & Harbison based in the firmโs Covington, Ky., office. He is a member and former chair of the firmโs Construction Service Group. His practice focuses on construction law including dispute resolution, litigation and contract negotiation. He is a frequent lecturer for the University of Kentucky College of Law, the Construction Lawyers Society of America, Construction Users Roundtable and other construction trade associations.
Outside of the firm, Geisen is active in a variety of professional organizations. He is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, the Construction Lawyers Society of America and the Litigation Counsel of America. He serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Construction Lawyers. Additionally, he is a member of the Diversity Law Institute and the American Bar Associationโs Forum on Construction Law.
