David L. Kinsella

David Kinsella is Counsel in the firm’s Lexington, Kentucky office, where he concentrates his practice on construction law and research. With more than three decades of legal experience spanning private practice, corporate and research organizations, and the university environment, he brings a seasoned, multidisciplinary perspective to advising clients. David represents owners and developers of large scale data centers across the United States, supporting fast paced and technologically complex construction and procurement projects. His work includes negotiating, drafting, and managing construction and vendor agreements and contracts and advice in support of other business sectors to ensure alignment with evolving operational, technical, and industry demands. With a great depth of experience supporting clinical trials, other research, and risk management, David provides proactive, timely guidance at all stages of investigation, development, launch, and post-approval with an eye toward compliance and risk reduction.

Before joining Stites & Harbison, David served as Senior Associate General Counsel at the University of Kentucky. Earlier in his career, he was Chief Legal Officer for Mapi Group (now ICON), where he led a global legal team and handled sophisticated business agreements, mergers and acquisitions, privacy matters, and intellectual property issues.
