Stites & Harbison grows Environmental Practice with the addition of attorney Jennifer Cave
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Stites & Harbison, PLLC welcomes attorney Jennifer Cave to the Louisville, Ky., office. She joins the Environmental, Natural Resources & Energy Service Group as a Member (Partner) of the firm.
“Jennifer has a proven track record of supporting clients in significant environmental matters across Kentucky and beyond,” stated William T. Gorton III, Chair of the firm’s Environmental, Natural Resources and Energy Service Group. “We are thrilled to have her join Stites & Harbison and provide her expertise to the evolving needs of our clients.”
Cave works with businesses and utilities to ensure compliance with state and federal environmental laws and regulations. Her experience includes advising clients on the Clean Air Act and assisting them with Clean Air Act permitting and compliance. She guides clients through transactions involving the purchase and sale of brownfields and other contaminated properties. Cave works with clients to perform environmental audits, prepare for regulatory inspections and develop regulatory response. She also defends clients in administrative and civil enforcement actions and citizen suit litigation.
Cave earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law. She earned her B.S., cum laude, in Biology from the University of Kentucky.
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Cave was a Partner with a large Lexington law firm. Previously, she served as an attorney for four years with Cozen O’Connor’s Global Insurance Group in Seattle. She also interned with the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Regional Counsel in Seattle in 2002. Prior to that, she worked as an environmental consultant where she managed environmental contamination assessment and remediation, asbestos abatement, and hazardous waste compliance across the U.S.
