Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation Appoints Mari-Elise Paul to its Board of Trustees

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation recently appointed Stites & Harbison, PLLC attorney Mari-Elise Paul to its Board of Trustees. She will serve a three-year term.

Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation is the philanthropic arm for Norton Children’s pediatric facilities and services. The foundation raises funds for Norton Children’s Hospital, Norton Children’s Medical Center and pediatric services provided at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital. Being named to the foundation’s Board of Trustees is especially meaningful to Paul. Her daughter received exceptional pediatric heart transplant care at Norton Children’s Hospital. Paul hopes to help Norton Children’s continue its not-for-profit mission to serve all families regardless of their ability to pay.

Paul is Counsel to Stites & Harbison based in the Louisville, Ky., office. She is a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group. Her practice concentrates on litigation involving intellectual property infringement and trade secret misappropriation, prosecuting trademark and copyright registration applications, litigating trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings as well as negotiating and drafting licenses and other contracts that involve intellectual property or technology rights. She also interacts with U.S. Customs & Border Protection to enforce trademarks through seizure orders.

Outside of the firm, Paul stays active in a variety of professional and community organizations. She is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s Trademark Treaties and International Law Committee and the International Trademark Association’s Leadership Development Committee. Within the local community, she serves on the Louisville American Heart Association’s Board of Directors and is a member of Americans for the Arts. She is also a former member of the Board of Directors of both Louisville Ballet and Dance Exchange.
