Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Johnson Returns to Stites & Harbison in Lexington, KY
LEXINGTON, Ky.—Stites & Harbison, PLLC is pleased to announce that attorney Elizabeth “Betsy” Johnson has returned to the firm’s Lexington, Ky., office. She is a Member (Partner) in the Health Care Service Group.
Johnson concentrates her practice on all aspects of health care law, focusing on regulatory matters impacting both providers and payors. She has had a diverse career serving in both legal and policy roles in state government and the private sector. She has testified before numerous committees of the Kentucky General Assembly, most notably the Interim Joint Committee on Health Services, House and Senate Committees on Health Services, Interim Joint Committee on Appropriations & Revenue, Budget Subcommittee on Health and Family Services, and Medicaid Oversight & Advisory Committee, in addition to various legislative task forces.
Prior to rejoining Stites & Harbison, Johnson served as the President/Executive Director of Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities/Kentucky Center for Assisted Living. In this role she grew the association membership by 30%, created the first assisted living community chapter and successfully advocated for increased Medicaid funding and regulatory reform.
Outside of the firm, Johnson stays active in a variety of professional organizations. She is a member of the American, Kentucky, Louisville and Fayette County Bar Associations. She also serves on the American Health Care Association Legal Committee and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
