Presented by Information Systems Security Association Middle Tennessee Chapter (ISSA)

This conference will offer two compelling keynote speakers, 16 breakout sessions, and a dynamic exhibit floor.

Ian Ramsey, Member, Stites & Harbison, PLLC, Chief Information Security Officer and Co-Chair of the firm's Privacy & Data Security practice group, will discuss "CyberSecurity Damages: An Overview of Economic Harm." This program will discuss: (1) targeted information and its potential economic value; (2) theories of liability that arise when a data breach occurs; and, (3) sources of economic harm that result from data breaches and potential recoveries. Distinctions between harm, damages and recovery will be explored. The presentation will detail where damages arise for a company and offer advice to identify, control, and reduce the financial impact of a data breach. The goal of the session is to educate the audience on where financial damages arise after a data breach both internal to company operations and external relating to effected customers, as well as public image.
