The dynamic created by healthcare reform in the U.S. is certainly a major force behind the move to greater consolidation, as well as factors such as the uncertainty resulting from downward pressure on reimbursement, challenging economic conditions, the looming fiscal cliff and the possibility of a less favorable future tax environment.
