Regulatory Counseling, Permitting, Compliance & Enforcement

Complying with complex federal, state, and local environmental laws is a challenge for many businesses. We provide day-to-day practical advice on laws and regulations governing solid and hazardous waste, air quality, and water quality. We assist clients with obtaining necessary environmental permits for both new facilities and expansion projects and defend clients in environmental enforcement actions brought by local, state, and federal environmental agencies. We also regularly assist clients with internal environmental compliance investigations and evaluate the use of federal and state environmental audit privilege and immunity laws. The firm also advises clients on the impacts of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and other emerging contaminants.
