Stites & Harbison welcomes Melissa Davey, Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy attorney

ATLANTA—Stites & Harbison is pleased to announce that attorney Melissa J. Davey has joined the firm’s Atlanta office as an associate. Davey joins the Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy Service Group, where her practice focuses primarily on representing institutional lenders and other creditors in bankruptcy.
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Davey worked as Senior Staff Attorney for a Chapter 13 Trustee administering approximately 12,000 cases.

In the community, Davey is the co-chair of the Community Service Committee for the Atlanta Chapter of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation and is the secretary of the Metro Atlanta Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney Group. She is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute. She has previously served on the Communications Committee for the State Bar of Georgia and volunteered as a guardian ad litem for the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer’s Foundation.

Davey earned her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta in 2003. She is admitted to practice in Georgia.
