Wathen’s practice focuses on lender liability actions, contested mortgage litigation (TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, FCRA, and state law claims), commercial real estate disputes, general commercial litigation, and representing creditors in bankruptcy court.
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Wathen was an attorney for a firm in Owensboro, Ky., where he gained extensive experience in commercial litigation in federal and state courts. Outside of the firm, he serves on the Executive Committee for the Young Lawyers’ Division of the Kentucky Bar Association and is a member of the 2017 Kentucky Bar Association Convention Committee. Wathen earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2013 and his Bachelor of Arts in History from Vanderbilt University in 2010. Wathen is admitted to practice in Kentucky and the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.
