Demetrius Holloway and Doug Farnsley earn 2015 U of L Alumni Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law honored two Stites & Harbison, PLLC attorneys at their 2015 Alumni Awards Luncheon held on October 23, 2015. Demetrius Holloway was honored with the Alumni Fellow Award and Doug Farnsley was honored as one of four recipients of the Distinguished Alumni/ae Award.

They are outstanding individuals who deserve to be recognized for their distinguished work in the practice of law, significant community contributions, and their integrity,” said Robert M. Connolly, Chair of Stites & Harbison. “They have joined an exclusive group of outstanding lawyers.”

Holloway, a Member (Partner) of Stites & Harbison, primarily works with the Employment Law Service Group but also is as an affiliated member of the Business Litigation and Torts & Insurance Practice Service Groups. He has both first- and second-chair trial experience in employment matters. Within the firm, he serves as co-chair of the Diversity Committee. Outside of the firm, Holloway serves on the board of the Louisville Urban League and is the Chairman of the Board of Deacons and Finance Board of his church.

Farnsley is a Member (Partner) of the firm. He focuses his on civil trial work, including the defense of product liability claims and professional and hospital liability claims. He has over 30 years of trial experience, including more than 50 matters successfully tried to verdict. He has argued before state and federal appeals courts and currently serves on Stites & Harbison’s General Counsel Committee and previously served on its Management Committee. Outside of the firm, Farnsley is the president of the Kentucky Bar Association and a member of the Advisory Board of Actors Theatre of Louisville. Additionally, he is a passionate supporter of two historic sites associated with his family in southwestern Jefferson County–the Farnsley-Kaufman House and Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing.
