LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The law firm of Stites & Harbison announced today the addition of five new associates to the firm. One associate was added to the Frankfort, Ky., office, one was added to the Lexington, Ky., office, two were added to the Louisville, Ky., office, and one was added to the Nashville, Tenn., office.
Assigned to the Frankfort, Ky., office:
Laura S. Crittenden is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group. She earned her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law, Lexington, Ky., in 2008. During law school, Crittenden was a staff member of the Kentucky Law Journal. Prior to joining the firm, she was a law clerk to Judge Gregory F. Van Tatenhove, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky. She is admitted to practice in Kentucky.
Assigned to the Lexington, Ky., office:
Nathan V. Simon is a member of the Construction Service Group. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Law, Tuscaloosa, Ala., in 2011. In law school, he served as the managing editor of The Journal of the Legal Profession, competed in the national Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition, and was a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society. Simon joined Stites & Harbison after participating in the firm’s summer associate program in 2009. He is admitted to practice in Kentucky.
Assigned to the Louisville, Ky., office:
Brian M. Bennett is a member of the Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy Service Group. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, Louisville, Ky., in 2011. While attending law school, Bennett served as a notes editor of the University of Louisville Law Review, was vice president of administration of the Moot Court Board, and competed on the Brandeis School of Law National Trial Team. Bennett participated in Stites & Harbison’s summer associate program in 2009 and also clerked with the firm during his final semester of law school, spring 2011. He is admitted to practice in Kentucky.
Monet L. Duke is a member of the Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group. She graduated cum laude in 2011 from the University of Illinois College of Law, Champaign, Ill. In law school, Duke was a founding member and worked as a student attorney in the University of Illinois College of Law Family Advocacy Clinic. She also was a member of the Trial Team and the Frederick Douglass Moot Court. She joined Stites & Harbison after working as an adjunct instructor in the University of Illinois College of Law LL.M. Advantage Program in the summer of 2011. She is admitted to practice in Illinois.
Assigned to the Nashville, Tenn., office:
J. Patrick Warfield is a member of the Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy Service Group. He is a 2011 graduate of Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, Birmingham, Ala. During law school, Warfield was articles editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and served on the Henry Upson Simons Moot Court Board. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, he interned for the Honorable Thomas A. Wiseman, Jr., of the Middle District of Tennessee, and for the Honorable James G. Martin, III, of the 21st Judicial District of Tennessee. He also summer clerked for the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office in its Environmental and Tobacco Enforcement Divisions. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee.
