Stites & Harbison adds two attorneys at Nashville office

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Stites & Harbison, PLLC., has hired attorney Matthew Kroplin to work with its Business Litigation Service Group and Patrick Warfield to work with its Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy Service Group. Both are associates at the law firm’s Nashville office.

Kroplin has three year’s experience as a business litigator. He represents banking institutions, insurance companies, healthcare companies and other business entities and individuals regarding complex disputes and litigation, tort and insurance defense, contract disputes, zoning matters, creditor representation, and general business advice.

Formerly with Frost Brown Todd, LLC, Kroplin also served as a law clerk for Wilkes & McHugh, P.A., and the Office of the Tennessee Attorney General. Prior to that, he was house majority caucus press secretary for the Tennessee General Assembly.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University, a master’s of public administration from Tennessee State University and his law degree from Vanderbilt University. He is an American Cancer Society junior board member and a member of the American, Tennessee and Nashville Bar Associations.

Warfield interned for Senior U.S. District Court Judge Thomas A. Wiseman Jr. and Tennessee Circuit Court Judge and Chancellor James G. Martin III. He also was a clerk for the Office of the Tennessee Attorney General in the environmental and tobacco enforcement divisions.  Prior to pursuing a law degree, he was a sixth-grade science teacher at St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Va., where he also coached varsity track and cross country.

Warfield has a bachelor’s degree from Sewanee: The University of the South, where he was in the Order of the Gownsmen and his law degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, where he served as articles editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy. Warfield is the grandson of Charles Warfield of Farris, Warfield & Kanaday, which combined with Stites & Harbison in 2001.
