LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Angela Stephens, an attorney in the Louisville, Ky., office of Stites & Harbison, PLLC, is the first ever attorney from the Commonwealth of Kentucky to be nominated for the American Bar Association’s (ABA) National Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. 

This annual award honors the most talented young lawyers in the nation who demonstrate professional excellence and service to their community as well as to the legal profession.

Stephens, a Member of the firm whose practice is devoted primarily to construction law, is a LEED Accredited Professional and uses her knowledge of sustainable design and construction to advise clients about various legal issues arising out of green or sustainable design and general construction matters.  She also is the first attorney in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to achieve Green Advantage^® certification.

The ABA National Outstanding Young Lawyer Award was established in 2007.  Nominations are made by the Young Lawyers Division of the ABA.  The 2011 award will be presented at the ABA Midyear Meeting in February 2012 in New Orleans.
