This year's storms that brought unprecedented tornados throughout the Southeast and the epic floods that have threatened communities throughout the Mississippi River delta caused not only incredible personal suffering and devastation, but also heavily impacted businesses in those regions.

The random destructiveness of storms and other natural disasters should give concern to any data center operator and to the service providers whose "cloud" environments are hosted by these data centers.
