LEXINGTON, Ky.—Stites & Harbison welcomes attorney Kenneth J. Gish, Jr., to the Lexington, Ky., office.  Ken joins the firm as an associate in the Environmental, Natural Resources & Energy Service Group.

Ken’s practice focuses on complex facility permitting, hazardous waste remediation, compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental litigation.  He represents the firm’s clients in all stages of the permitting process from application to appeals before administrative bodies and in state and federal court.  He also assists clients in managing regulatory compliance matters arising from federal, state and local laws.  

Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Ken was an associate with K&L Gates, LLP, in Seattle, Wash., for more than six years.  Prior to entering law school, he served as a watch and division officer on USS San Juan (SSN-751), a nuclear-powered fast attack submarine.

Ken earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor, Mich., in 2003.  He graduated from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., in 1995 with a B.A. in Government, concentration in American Government.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, Water Resources Committee.  He is a former director of the Northwest Environmental Business Council (2009-10) and a former member of the American Water Resources Association, Washington Section.
