LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Stites & Harbison welcomes attorney Carter Vance to the Louisville, Ky., office.  Vance joins the firm as an associate.

Vance is a member of the Business & Finance Service Group.  He is a transactional lawyer focusing on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law.  He has also represented lenders and borrowers in connection with senior secured lending and related matters.

Prior to joining the Stites & Harbison (www.stites.com), Vance practiced law with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, LLP, in New York where he served as counsel for lending institutions, private equity clients and real estate ventures.  During law school, he was awarded internships at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the New York Stock Exchange.  Prior to law school, he worked as a technology consultant in New York City.

Vance graduated from Duke University, Durham, N.C., in 2006, with his J.D. as well as his M.B.A.  While attending Duke University, he was an international management exchange student at The London School of Economics and Political Science, London, England, September through December, 2005.  Vance earned his B.A. in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa., in 1998.
