LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) http://www.gaminglawmasters.com/ has named Stites & Harbison member Ian Ramsey as a general member representing Kentucky in the organization.  IMGL is an invitation-only, non-profit association dedicated to the education and advancement of the gaming law profession whose membership exceeds 200, representing more than 38 countries, 32 U.S. states, and the District of Columbia. 

A significant factor in Mr. Ramsey being named to the IMGL involves his leading role in the case styled Commonwealth Of Kentucky, Ex. Rel J. Michael Brown, Secretary, Justice and Public Safety Cabinet v. Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association, et al. that is pending in the Kentucky Supreme Court.  Beyond deciding the fate of i-gaming in Kentucky, this case is expected to establish precedent on whether any state court can assert jurisdiction over absentee domain names.
