Kentucky Governor names Scott Barber to Kentucky Oil and Gas Conservation Commission

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear recently named attorney Oliver H. "Scott" Barber III to the Kentucky Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Barber is a Member of the Louisville, Ky., office of Stites & Harbison. His term became effective January 30, 2009, and expires January 21, 2012. Barber replaces Septtimous Taylor, whose term has expired.
The Kentucky Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, created in 2000, is charged with administering and enforcing Kentucky's regulations governing deep well pools and drilling units. The commission is composed of four members appointed by the governor and one member who is the director of the Division of Oil and Gas Conservation.
Scott Barber is a member of Stites & Harbison's Business Litigation Service Group and White-Collar Crime Practice Section, where he handles a variety of difficult matters for the firm's clients, including complexcommercial litigation, environmental litigation, and energy disputes.
