Seven new associates join Stites & Harbison in Kentucky - nine hired firmwide

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Stites & Harbison (www.stites.com) announced today the addition of nine new associates firmwide.  Seven associates were added to the Louisville and Lexington, Ky., offices and two were added to the Nashville, Tenn., office. 

Assigned to the Louisville, Ky., office are:

Katherine A. Bell is a member of the Capital Markets Service Group.  She is a 2008 graduate of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Ky., magna cum laude.  Bell was a notes editor and member of the University of Louisville Law Review.  Bell authored a Student Note, "The Ministerial Exception: A Religious Organization's License to Discriminate," to be published in volume 46 of the University of Louisville Law Review.

Prior to joining the firm, Bell was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2007.  Before that she was an intern for the 12th Judicial Circuit, Hon. Karen A. Conrad.

Thomas P. Claycomb is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group.  He is a 2008 graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School.  Claycomb was a member of the Vanderbilt Moot Court Board and a section editor to the law school's recruitment and orientation guide, Obiter Dictum. He joined Stites & Harbison after participating in the firm's summer associate program in 2007.

Michael Denbow is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group.  He is a 2008 graduate of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Ky.  Denbow was a member of the Brandeis Law Journal.  Prior to joining the firm, he was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2007.

Eleanor S. Stepusin is a member of the Capital Markets Service Group.  She is a 2008 graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Chicago.  She was an associate editor of Children's Legal Rights Journal.  Before joining the firm, she was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2006 and 2007.

Lindsay Yeakel Capps is a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group.  She is a 2008 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, in Lexington, Ky.  She was the comments editor of the Journal of Natural Resources and Environmental Law.  In that journal she published "Save Our Mountains: The Impact of Save Our Cumberland Mountains v. Kempthorne in Encouraging NEPA Efficiency," Spring 2007.

Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Capps worked as a 2007 legal intern for Yum! Brands, Inc. in Louisville, Ky., and she participated in the Stites & Harbison summer associate program in 2006.  She also clerked for the Hon. Karen K. Caldwell, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky.

Assigned to the Lexington, Ky., office are:

Kristen K. Orr is a member of the Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group.  She graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in Lexington, Ky., summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, and valedictorian in 2007.  She was a notes editor for the Kentucky Law Journal and published "Fencing in the Frontier: A Look into the Limits of Mail Fraud," 95 Kentucky Law Journal 789 (2007).

Prior to joining the firm, Orr served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jennifer B. Coffman, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, 2007 to 2008.  Before that, she was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2006.

R. Kelley Rosenbaum is a member of the Business & Finance Service Group.  She graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, in 2008.  While in law school, she served as a staff member of the Kentucky Law Journal and published "Mucking Out the Stalls: How KRS 230.357 Promises to Change Custom and Facilitate Economic Efficiency in the Horse Industry," 95 Kentucky Law Journal 997 (2007).

She joined Stites & Harbison after participating in the firm's summer associate program in 2007.  In the summer of 2006, Rosenbaum served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Karen K. Caldwell, United States District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky.

All seven associates are admitted to practice in Kentucky.
