NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Sewanee: The University of the South recently elected Stites & Harbison attorney Julian Bibb to its board of trustees. Bibb is one of six new members to receive the nomination from the Associated Alumni of Sewanee.

Bibb was elected for a three-year term as one of 15 alumni representatives on the board. Sewanee's board of trustees meets once a year and elects the University's board of regents, chancellor, vice chancellor and chaplain.

Bibb, a member of the Sewanee class of 1973, has served his alma mater in many capacities, including roles as career services advisor, class reunion chair, and member of the off-campus admissions program and the parents' council. As a member of the board of The Land Trust for Tennessee, Bibb assisted with a four-year effort to purchase and protect the 3,000-acre Lost Cove. The Lost Cove property is now owned and managed by Sewanee as an outdoor academic laboratory and for recreation; The Land Trust holds a perpetual conservation easement on the land.
