LEXINGTON, Ky. —Stites & Harbison announced today that Anne E. Gorham, member of the Lexington, Ky., office, was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers (ACCL).  ACCL, one of the nation's leading legal associations, only designates the top 1% of the construction bar in the U.S. with this honor.

ACCL inducts a limited number of Fellows each year.  Fellowship is awarded to lawyers and judges who demonstrate the highest ethical standards and exceptional skill in the practice or teaching of construction law.  Candidates for Fellowship are nominated by current Fellows, elected by the Board of Governors and approved by the entire membership.

"Given ACCL's stringent selection process, this is a great honor for Anne and our construction practice," said Kennedy Helm III, chairman of Stites & Harbison.  "The firm is now privileged to have three Fellows of ACCL."  Buckner Hinkle, Jr., also of the Lexington, Ky., office, is a Fellow as is David B. Ratterman of the Louisville, Ky., office.

Gorham, who joined Stites & Harbison in 1991 and became a member in 2000, chairs the firm's Construction Service Group.  She is also co-chair of the Lexington Office Recruiting Committee.  Her practice focuses entirely on construction contract drafting, negotiation and dispute resolution.  In 2005, Gorham was elected to the American Bar Association's Governing Committee of the Forum on the Construction Industry.  She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® 2008 and the 2007 Kentucky Super Lawyers magazine, where she is also listed among the Top 25 Women Lawyers in the state. 

Gorham is admitted to practice in Kentucky; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 4th and 6th Circuits; the U.S. District Court for Colorado; the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky; the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia; and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
