Stites & Harbison names six new members

Stites & Harbison, PLLC, announced today that six attorneys have been elected to membership in the law firm, effective January 1, 2008. The new members are: Matthew A. Gillies, Oliver H. (Scott) Barber, III, and Mark W. Leach of the Louisville, Ky., office; Brian T. Nash of the Atlanta office; David E. Longenecker of the Lexington, Ky., office; and Alexandra MacKay of the Nashville, Tenn., office.
Matthew A. Gillies is a member of the Construction Service Group. His practice includes the drafting and negotiation of construction and design contracts, as well as the resolution of disputes arising therefrom. Gillies is admitted to practice in Kentucky; the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
Oliver H. (Scott) Barber, III, is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group and White-Collar Crime Practice Section, where his practice includes complex commercial litigation, environmental litigation, torts & product liability defense, arbitration, and mediation. Barber is admitted to practice in Kentucky; Pennsylvania; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 3rd and 6th Circuits; and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, the Middle District of Tennessee, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the District of New Jersey.
Mark W. Leach is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group, where his practice focus is business litigation, construction disputes and public procurement matters. Leach is admitted to practice in Kentucky; the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.
Brian T. Nash is a member of two service groups at Stites & Harbison: Business & Finance and Intellectual Property & Technology. His practice focuses on corporate and technology related transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and venture capital and private equity transactions, as well as technology transfer agreements, licensing and distribution agreements, e-commerce agreements, and complex technology purchasing agreements. Nash is admitted to practice in Georgia.
David E. Longeneckeris a member of the Business & Finance Service Group. He works with businesses and their owners, officers and directors on managing their legal affairs. Primary areas of focus include transactional practice, including equine deals, asset-based finance and general corporate counsel. Longenecker is admitted to practice in Kentucky.
Alexandra MacKay is a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group. She concentrates on intellectual property law and handles both transactions and litigation. MacKay is admitted to practice in Tennessee; the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Western Districts of Tennessee; and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 6th and Federal Circuits.
