Christy A. Ames joins Stites & Harbison in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 8, 2008)—Stites & Harbison announced today that Christy A. Ames has joined the firm in the Louisville, Ky., office.
Ames is counsel to the firm and a member of the Business Litigation Service Group. Her practice includes general litigation with a focus on residential mortgage litigation. In addition, she advises clients on issues that pertain to mortgage lenders, brokers, and other financial institutions, including compliance with federal and state laws relating to mortgage lending and brokering, licensing, do-not call issues, disclosures, the Fair Labor Standards Act as it applies to the mortgage banking industry and privacy.
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Ames served for five years as general counsel for a large regional residential mortgage lender, First Residential Mortgage Network, Inc. d/b/a SurePoint Lending, where she was responsible for managing litigation and insuring compliance with federal and 43 states' mortgage laws and regulations. Before that, her practice focused on general litigation at a large and mid-sized regional law firm.
Ames is admitted to practice in Kentucky; Indiana; the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky; and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
