LOUISVILLE, Ky. (November 12, 2007)—Stites & Harbison announced today the addition of 19 new associates firm-wide.

Kenneth B. Franklin is a member of the Construction Service Group. He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude, in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Franklin was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2006. He was also a summer associate for Burr & Forman, LLP, in 2006 and for Green, Johnson & Landers, LLP, in 2005.

David M. Stout is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2007. She graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Smith was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2006. She also served a judicial internship with Hon. Gary D. Payne, Fayette County Circuit Court, was a juvenile post-disposition law clerk for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Public Advocacy and a court designated worker for the Kentucky State Administrative Office of the Courts. Prior to law school, Smith worked for the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division 2nd Department, as a senior appellate court clerk and a senior appellate court officer / attendant and with the New York State Supreme Court, Bronx Family Court as a court officer.

Steven M. Henderson is a member of the Construction Service Group. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law, magna cum laude, in 2007. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Henderson was a summer associate at Stites & Harbison in 2005 and 2006. Prior to law school, he was a geotechnical engineer with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet from 1999 to 2004. Henderson is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Kentucky.
Michael K. Kim is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group. He graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, cum laude, in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Kim was a summer associate at Stites & Harbison in 2006. Kim held various positions from 2003 to 2005, including certified legal intern with the Law Offices of the Public Defender for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, public interest law fellow for the University of Miami School of Law, Children & Youth Law Clinic and paralegal project manager for Bingham McCutchen LLP. From 1998 to 2003, he was a computer programmer / consultant.
W. Robert Meyer is a member of the Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy Service Group. He graduated from Indiana University School of Law – Bloomington in 2002. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Meyer was a law clerk for Hon. Basil H. Lorch, III, Chief Judge, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana from 2003 to 2007. Prior to law school, he was an economic program analyst for the United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census, Economics Division, from 1997 to 1999.
Rachel Owsley is a member of the Business & Finance Service Group. She graduated from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, magna cum laude, in 2007. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Owsley was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2005 and 2006.
Karen M. Paulin is a member of the Labor & Employment Service Group. She graduated from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, magna cum laude, in 2007. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Paulin was a summer associate at Stites & Harbison in 2005 and 2006. Prior to law school, she was director/vice president of human resources at Metro United Way. Paulin is a Senior Professional in Human Resources and holds an MBA from the University of Louisville's College of Business.
Sean Renfroe is a member of the Capital Markets Service Group. He graduated from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, magna cum laude, in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Renfroe was a legal clerk at Weber & Rose and a legal intern with the Kings County District Attorney's Office. Prior to law school, Renfroe was a title examiner with Russell T. Quarterman, P.C.

K. Kelly White is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group and the Health Care Practice Group. She graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2007. She also completed a judicial internship with Fayette District Court, was a summer associate with Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, in 2005, was a legal assistant with White, White & Crenshaw in Hopkinsville in 2004 and a legal assistant with Padgett, Whitworth, Donohue & Mickiewicz in Memphis from 2002 to 2004.

Prior to law school, Wilson was a technician/courthouse researcher with Bluegrass Land Survey, Inc., from 1994 to 2004, and was an office assistant with Eastern Kentucky University, University Counsel, from 1999 to 2001.
Terry L. Wright is a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group. He graduated from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, cum laude, in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Wright was a law clerk at the Office of the Jefferson County Attorney. Prior to law school, Wright was a biomedical research assistant in laboratories at both the University of Cincinnati and University of Louisville from 2000 to 2004, and was an operating room assistant at the University of Louisville Hospital from 1997 to 1999.
