LOUISVILLE, Ky., (October 10, 2006)—Kennedy Helm III, Chairman of Stites & Harbison, PLLC, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Louisville Urban League.  Prior to Helm's election as Chairman, he served as Vice Chairman of Development where he lead the Louisville Urban League to 94% board contribution, and increased funding and multi-year gifts from local companies and corporations.  Helm succeeds W. Barry Chapman, retired Courier Journal Human Resources Director, as board Chairman.

During Helm's tenure as Chairman of Stites & Harbison, the firm has developed and implemented a diversity plan which led to the firm's being named by Mulitcultural Law magazine as a Top 100 Law Firm for Diversity in 2005.  Helm is a member of the board of directors of Greater Louisville, Inc. and of Whayne Supply Company, is a member of the University of Louisville Board of Overseers, and is a past director of National City Bank of Kentucky.  He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America®, Outstanding Lawyers of America, and as one of America's Leading Lawyers for Business by Chambers USA.
