William L. Penny appointed by Tennessee's Governor to the Public Health Emergency Advisory Committee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 7, 2006)—Stites & Harbison announced that William L. Penny of the Nashville, Tenn., office was appointed by Tennessee Governor, Phil Bredesen, to the Public Health Emergency Advisory Committee.

Appointment terms vary based on statutory recommendations or term limits specified by geographic or other qualifications.

Penny is a Member of the firm and is part of the Environmental, Natural Resources & Energy Service Group.  He has more than 20 years of experience in environmental law.  He served as General Counsel for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (1991 to 1992) and for the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment (1984 to 1992). He first joined the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment as Assistant General Counsel for Environment (1982 to 1984).
