Stites & Harbison names four new partners in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 19, 2006)—Stites & Harbison, PLLC announced today that Sarah G. Cronan, Clark C. Johnson, David W. Nagle, Jr., David E. Saffer, all of the Louisville office, have been elected to membership in the law firm, effective January 1, 2006.

Sarah G. Cronan is a member of the Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group.  She is experienced in product liability litigation involving drugs, medical devices, respirators, machinery and consumer products.  She also has experience in commercial, toxic tort and insurance coverage matters.  As national counsel for a medical device manufacturer, Cronan coordinated the defense of hip and knee litigation pending around the country.  She also serves as national corporate counsel for a machine manufacturer.  Cronan is a member of the Advisory Board of Stage One, The Children's Theatre of Louisville.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood of Louisville.

Clark C. Johnson is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group, where his practice focus is on class action litigation, particularly in the financial products and life insurance arena.  He has also litigated and tried a wide range of disputes involving securities fraud, products liability, intellectual property and professional liability in eighteen states.  In addition, Johnson has represented a number of clients in their dealings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  Johnson, a Louisville native, previously was a litigation partner at a major Chicago-based law firm.

David W. Nagle, Jr. is a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group.  He is one of 15 Registered Patent Attorneys with the firm and has been with the Louisville office's Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group since its inception.  His practice focus is on prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications.  He also regularly prepares and prosecutes trademark and copyright registration applications, along with negotiating and preparing licensing agreements and other contracts implicating intellectual property rights.  Nagle serves on the Licensing Committee for the Sigma Chi International Fraternity.

David E. Saffer is a member of the Real Estate and Banking Service Group.  He is a transactional lawyer focusing on real estate and lending law, with an emphasis in conduit lending.  He regularly represents institutional lenders in making all types of commercial loans.  Saffer is a member of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and a director of Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana, Inc.  He is the chairman of the 9th Biennial Real Estate Law and Practice Institute.  He is listed in the current edition of Chambers USA.
