LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 8, 2005)—Stites & Harbison announced today the addition of six new attorneys based in the Louisville office. They are among 14 new associates hired firm wide.
Here is a closer look at the Louisville attorneys. All are admitted to practice in Kentucky.
William Charles Ferrell, Jr. is a registered Patent Attorney and member of the Intellectual Property Service Group. He graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2005. Ferrell served as editor-in-chief of the Brandeis Law Journal volume 43. He was a member of the Brandeis Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison as an associate, Ferrell worked as a research assistant at the University of Louisville. He also served as a 2003 and 2004 summer associate for Stites & Harbison in the Louisville office. From 2000 to 2001, he was a Production Supervisor with Thoroughbred Technologies. He also worked for United Parcel Service Airlines as a Plant Engineer from 1999 to 2000 and as an aircraft engineering intern in 1993 and 1994. He is a native of LaGrange, Kentucky.
Sherry D. Hall is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, cum laude. Hall was a member of the Brandeis Law Journal and a tutor in Torts and Contracts.
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Hall worked as a 2004 summer associate with Stoll, Keenon & Park in Louisville, Ky. She was also a research assistant from 2003 to 2004 for the Brandeis School of Law. She is a native of Hindman, Kentucky.
Dominick M. Moore is a member of the Business and Finance Service Group. He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, cum laude. He was a staff member of the Brandeis Law Journal. His article, "Watch your Step: An Analysis of Premises Liability in the Wake of Lanier v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc." was published in volume 43 of the journal.
Prior to becoming an associate, Moore served as a 2004 summer associate with Stites & Harbison. He was also a 2003 summer associate for Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs. In 2001, he worked as a summer intern with the South Carolina Governor's Office in Columbia, S.C. Moore is a native of Columbia, S.C.
Amber D. Swanson is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group. She is a 2005 graduate of Indiana University School of Law, cum laude, in Bloomington, Ind. She was the Managing Editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies from 2004 to 2005. She was active with the Protective Order Project and the Women's Law Caucus.
Swanson served as a 2004 summer associate for Stites & Harbison in the Louisville office. Prior to that, she worked as a research assistant for Indiana University. She also served as a law clerk for Applegate, McDonald & Associates from June 2003 to May 2004. Swanson is a native of Indianapolis, Ind.
Robert B. Vice, Jr. is a member of the Real Estate and Banking Service Group. He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. He was Production Editor for the Journal of Natural Resources and Environmental Law and served on the College of Law Honor Council.
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Vice worked as a law clerk for Landrum & Shouse in the summer of 2003. He was also an intern with National City Bank of Kentucky in the Community Development Department. He has also served as a law firm runner for Reed Weitkamp Schell & Vice in Louisville, Ky. He is a native of Louisville, Ky.
Tyler S. Whitty is a member of the Business and Finance Service Group. He is a 2005 graduate from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he was named to the Order of the Coif. He was a staff member of the Kentucky Law Journal. His article, "Eliminating the Exception? Lawrence v. Texas and the Arguments for Extending the Right to Marry to Same-Sex-Couples" was published in volume 93 of the journal.
Whitty served as a 2003 and 2004 summer associate for Stites & Harbison in the Louisville office. Prior to that, he worked as an intern for Gov. Frank O'Bannon's Chief Legal Counsel at the Office of the Governor in Indiana. He was also a research assistant in 2001 for the Office of the Special Counsel to the Governor. He is a native of Louisville, Kentucky.
