Stites & Harbison adds four new attorneys in Lexington

Lexington group part of 14 new associates hired firm wide

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 8, 2005)—Stites & Harbison announced the addition of five new attorneys based in the Lexington office.  They are among 14 new associates that were hired firm wide.

Here is a closer look at the Lexington associates.  All are admitted to practice in Kentucky.

Susan Renee Crowe is a member of the Business & Finance Service Group.  She is a 2005 graduate from the University of Kentucky College of Law.  While there, she was a staff member of the Kentucky Law Journal and a member of the Moot Court Board, where she served as Social Chair for the 2004-05 academic year.  She was also involved on the College of Law Recruiting Committee and the College of Law Mentoring Program.  In addition, she took part in the 2003 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program and was on the Fayette County Foster Care Review Board.

Crowe worked as a 2004 summer associate with Stites & Harbison in Lexington, Ky.  Prior to that, she served as a 2003 summer law clerk for Mundy & Nelson, Attorneys and Counselors in Huntington, W.Va.  She is a native of Louisville, Ky.

Jennifer L. Hatchett is a member of the Business & Finance Service Group.  She is a 2004 graduate of Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis, Ind.  While in law school, Hatchett was a Member of the Order of Barristers and the Region VIII Coordinator of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York Moot Court Competition.

Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Hatchett served as Corporate Counsel to US Healthcare Holdings, LLC.  She also served as a law clerk with Huffer & Weathers, P.C., in Indianapolis, Ind. from May 2004 to December 2004.  She served as a paralegal for various firms in Indiana from 1995 to 2004.  She is a native of Lexington, Ky.

A. Spencer McKiness is a member of the Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group.  He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law.  He was President of the Black Law Student's Association from May 2004 to April 2005 and Vice President of the Trial Advocacy Board from May 2004 to April 2005.  He was also a member of the University of Kentucky Supreme Court where he served as an Associate Justice from July 2003 to May 2005. 
McKiness served as a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in Lexington, Ky. from 2003 to 2005.  He was a fall 2004 intern with the Commonwealth Attorney's Office.  He is a native of Louisville, Ky.

Phillip J. Wininger is a member of the Construction Service Group.  He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law, summa cum laude, in 2005.  He was a member of the Order of the Coif and was a staff member for the Kentucky Law Journal.  He won the Best Oral Argument for the Swinford Writing Club.  He also received the CALI Book Awards in Torts and Jurisprudence.

Wininger served as a 2004 summer associate for Stites & Harbison and a 2003 summer associate with Vimont & Wills both in Lexington, Ky.  From June 2001 to August 2002, Wininger served as a law clerk for Broderick & Thornton in Bowling Green, Ky.  He is a native of Bowling Green, Ky.
