  • A team of lawyers and engineers is in its seventh year as national counsel for Boston Scientific Corporation in  medical device claims involving the Rotablator® Rotational Atherectomy System.
  • Product liability lawyers from the Louisville office are in the third year of representing Pfizer Inc. in dozens of Kentucky lawsuits alleging injury from the use of the prescription medications Celebrex® and Bextra®.
  • Defending Stryker Corporation in a products liability action, lawyers in Indiana successfully removed a state court action to federal court and thwarted plaintiff’s attempt to remand the action.  The federal court subsequently entered summary judgment on Stryker’s behalf.

  • Lead counsel in the defense of the OxyContin litigation in Kentucky for the Purdue Company resulting in Summary Judgment in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
  • Prosecuted to allow an application for templates for the production libraries of chemical compositions as candidates for drug research and as peptidomimics.
  • Represent numerous pharmaceutical companies and other companies in the field of Biotechnology, including New Century Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Inhibitex, Inc., with regard to their Intellectual :Property needs.
  • Have prosecuted numerous US and foreign patents relating to pharmaceutical inventions, including U.S. Pat. No. 7,482,439 relating to antibacterial pharmaceutical compositions containing caprazene and caprazol, and U.S. Pat. No. 7,462,615 relating to pharmaceutical compositions containing cysteine protease inhibitors.
  • Served on nationwide defense team of product liability claims against Boston Scientific Corporation's Rotablator® System.
  • Represent numerous manufacturers of medical devices, including Synthes, Inc., and Spine Solutions, with regard to their Intellectual Property needs.
  • Have prosecuted numerous US and foreign patents relating to medical devices, including U.S. Pat. No. 7,491,204 relating to instruments and methods for preparing an intervertebral space for receiving an artificial disc implant and U.S. Pat. No. 7,204,852 relating to an intervertebral implant.
  • Our state and local tax attorneys have experience in representing pharmaceutical companies, which includes advice and planning regarding income tax nexus with Kentucky.
  • Provide ongoing representation of durable medical equipment (DME) providers, which includes advising DME providers how to remain in compliance with statutory changes stemming from Kentucky's ongoing efforts to conform with the multi-state Streamlined Sales Tax Agreement.
