- Consulted with the Federal Emergency Management Agency on construction issues related to the Northridge, California, earthquake and the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.
- Consulted in the defense of the United States government in connection with alleged violation of the North American Free Trade Agreement and its application to purchase of structual steel for Federal construction projects.
- Successfully litigated a case for a Minnesota bridge painting contractor, its subcontractor and its surety against the state Transportation Cabinet, and achieved a $12 million settlement for client—the largest settlement paid in the history of the Transportation Cabinet.
- Represented a supplier of traffic signals in a contract procurement dispute with a state Transportation Cabinet.
- Represented clients on visa issues at embassies in Brazil, Germany, Guatemala, India and South Africa.
- Represented general contractor in claim against subcontractor for delays and defective work arising from major Federal government project.
- Represented general contractor and two subcontractors who asserted delay and inefficiency claims against a state finance department. The claims were settled for approximately $1 million following direct negotiations with the cabinet secretary.
- Saved the Borden Tri-County Regional Water District approximately $250,000 in bond payments.
- Our team of state and local tax attorneys have been involved in drafting and negotiating various pieces of proposed legislation and administrative regulations and has built a good reputation and working relationship with the Kentucky Department of Revenue.
- Our team of state and local tax attorneys have successfully represented one of the nation's oldest water tank manufacturers/contractors in protests of both sales and use tax and property tax audits before the Protest Resolution Division at the Department of Revenue.
