The state of the economy has made the competition for public projects even tougher. This makes knowing the rules for public projects all the more important. This seminar will cover the rules for Kentucky public projects across state agencies. The presentation will provide a rundown of important steps when considering filing a protest and when defending an award of a contract. It will also highlight an online resource on bid protests and will examine the new local-bidder preference law.

With the competition for public projects being more fiercer, governmental agencies have stepped up their policing efforts of contractors. The seminar will also address debarment, the "death penalty" for public contractors. This presentation will be beneficial for any company involved with public contracts at any level, from municipal all the way to the federal level.

Thirsty Thursdays are networking events which take place the fourth Thursday of every month from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on the 20th floor of Stites' Louisville office.  The program starts off with a half-hour of networking, with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a short presentation and more networking.

Mark Leach's practice focuses on health care law, construction disputes and public procurement matters. He has tried 26 bench and jury trials to verdict.
