Stites & Harbison's Lexington-based equine lawyers have chalked up back-to-back wins at the Kentucky Derby. In May 2001, Stites & Harbison's Bob Beck joined John Oxley and John T. Ward, Jr., the owner and trainer, respectively, of MONARCHOS, in the Winner's Circle at Churchill Downs. Since then, Bob and his equine law section have helped syndicate the colt for breeding.
Bob was also in the Winner's Circle in May 2000 with Fusao Sekiguchi and his winning horse, FUSAICHI PEGASUS. The colt was immediately hailed as a super horse, and Stites & Harbison negotiated the sale and syndication of the colt for breeding purposes for a reported price approximately double the previous world record Thoroughbred stallion syndication.
