Buck Hinkle's practice is concentrated exclusively on the construction industry and business litigation. He currently chairs the firm's Construction Service Group, co-chairs the Sustainability & Emerging Technologies Practice Group and is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group.
His construction practice has involved services to contractors, design-builders, steel fabricators, construction managers, design professionals, owners, subcontractors, sureties, and vendors in matters ranging from construction claims to contract negotiations and drafting. His business and commercial litigation practice has involved a variety of transactions in the financial, equine, manufacturing and mineral industries.

More Than Stites & Harbison
In 2000-01, Mr. Hinkle served as Chair of the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry, one of the top positions affecting construction law policy nationally. He has also been a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers since 1996, is listed in Best Lawyers in America® (2001-2012) for Commercial Litigation and Construction Law & Litigation for 2012, was named Best Lawyers' 2012 Lexington Construction Law Lawyer of the Year, Chambers USA, "America's Leading Lawyers for Business" (2010-11), and in Kentucky Super Lawyers magazine. The Associated General Contractors of Kentucky honored Mr. Hinkle with the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2009 Distinguished Service Award and named him the 2007 Legislative Advocate of the Year.
Mr. Hinkle has served as a member of the Panel of Construction and Commercial Arbitrators American Arbitration Association, and is currently a member of AAA’s Panel of Construction Mediators. In 2002, he was selected to serve on the Construction Panel of Neutrals for the Center for Public Resources. He also serves as a neutral in self-administered arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Hinkle serves on the Board of Directors of Kentucky Center for Traditional Music, Hinkle Contracting Corporation, and the Kentucky Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America. He chairs Kentucky AGC’s Legislative Committee and received AGC’s Legislative Advocate of the Year for 2007. He is also a trustee of the Appalshop Endowment and Chancellor for the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington.
