Martin Simmons is Counsel in the firm's Nashville office where he is a member of the Real Estate & Banking Service Group. His practice focuses on the representation of owners, developers, lenders, contractors and architects of complex real estate projects. Mr. Simmons has also served as Bond Counsel and Underwriters' Counsel in revenue bond issues, including those involving 501(c)(3) organizations.
Before Stites & Harbison
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Mr. Simmons was Of Counsel to Frost Brown Todd in Nashville. From 1992-2000, he served in various capacities for First American Corporation (now Regions Financial Corporation), including General Counsel, Principal Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for Administration. Prior to 1992, he was a partner with Dearborn & Ewing Law Firm in Nashville.
Mr. Simmons also served as outside General Counsel to the then largest hospital construction company in the United States and later took leave of absence from private practice to serve as interim CEO of that company's parent with offices in Athens, Greece, Amstelveen, The Netherlands and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
