Chrisandrea (Chrissie) Turner is counsel with the firm in the Lexington office.  Her practice focuses on the representation of claimants in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, lender representation in state and bankruptcy matters, and bankruptcy mediation.  She has over ten years experience representing Chapter 7 Trustees, defending adversaries, and procuring claim payments for secured and unsecured creditors as well as administrative claimants. 

Experienced in appellate practice, Chrissie has appeared before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Sixth Circuit, and the Kentucky Court of Appeals, and has enjoyed success in both prosecuting and defending appeals.

Recent Assignments

  • Represented multiple lessees in executory contract rejection dispute with chapter 11 debtor resulting in payments to lessees of nearly $350,000
  • Obtained numerous judgments for corporate and non-corporate creditors defrauded by debtors in bankruptcy

Upon graduating from law school, Chrissie clerked for Hon. Judge Joseph M. Hood, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky, and Hon. Judge Eugene E. Siler, Jr., U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  She began her bankruptcy practice in 2001, and has litigated bankruptcy matters in the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, Delaware, Connecticut, and the Northern District of California.

Besides Stites & Harbison

Chrissie serves on the board of directors of Women Leading Kentucky.  She devotes her time outside the office to her two young daughters, her husband, and her golden retriever.  She is also a loyal member of the Big Blue Nation.
