Scott joined the firm in 2007 and is a transactional lawyer focusing on corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. He has also represented lenders in connection with commercial lending transactions, with an emphasis on capital market lending and related issues.
Recent Assignments
- Managed large team of lawyers and paralegals regarding various aspects, including due diligence, of a multi-billion dollar consolidation transaction
- Assist with formation and organization of multi-state billing and management company focusing on servicing anesthesiology and radiology medical groups
- Represented Kentucky entrepreneurs in multi-million dollar sale of business to out-of-state publicly-traded company
- Serve as outside counsel to multiple Kentucky special taxing districts
- Assisted local investor group in acquisition of controlling interest in nationally-renowned Louisville restaurant
- Assist with representation as seller's counsel in a $27.4 million acquisition of a Kentucky life sciences company with over 100 shareholders by a publicly traded technology company
- Worked with legal team to represent developers in New Markets Tax Credit financing projects
- Represent multiple clients with respect to various matters related to formation, structure, operation and dissolution of corporations and limited liability companies and applications for tax-exempt status
- Assist with representation of client in matters related to organization and formation of private equity company and advise related to applicable securities regulations

Prior to joining the firm, Scott practiced law with Young & Brooks, LLP, in Houston, Texas, where he served as counsel for municipal utility districts located throughout Southeast Texas. Prior to law school, Scott worked as a registered securities representative for Charles Schwab & Co.
Besides Stites & Harbison
Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons and spends much of his leisure time reading and following University of Kentucky athletics and Cincinnati Reds baseball.
