Bill Mathieu is a Member in the firm's Atlanta office where he is a member of the Real Estate & Banking Service Group. His practice includes the following:

Real Estate: Bill Mathieu's clients include owners and developers of retail, office, industrial and multifamily real estate. He also has represented national homebuilding companies.

Mr. Mathieu's experience in the real estate practice addresses all aspects of development and ownership, including purchase agreements, joint ventures, equity and debt financing, tax-deferred exchanges, various ownership structures and entities, leasing, rezoning, environmental issues, construction issues, covenants and long range planning.

Lending: Mr. Mathieu's clients include secured and unsecured lenders. He has closed numerous loan originations, as well as loan workouts and restructurings.

Business and Franchising: Mr. Mathieu also has provided general representation to entrepreneurial businesses and mid-size companies. He represents a franchisee of an international quick-service restaurant chain, which franchisee operates in several states.

Recent Assignments

  • Served as lead counsel to a Delaware Statutory Trust seeking to acquire over 100 different sites in more than 10 states from multiple sellers
  • Served as lead counsel to the owner of a Latin-themed lifestyle center selling to an entity related to a major pension fund. He also served as lead counsel to a partner in a development entity seeking to divest certain assets, including related loan assumptions and defeasances and various regulatory approvals.
  • Recently has been assisting an entrepreneurial entity seeking to become a new franchisor in the fast-growing personal care industry
