Community Involvement
Harold Butler is the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Stites & Harbison and is located in the firm's Louisville office. He has been with the firm since 1989 and is a Certified Public Accountant (1976).
Before Stites & Harbison
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Harold was Chief Financial Officer for Reich & Tang, L.P., in New York from 1987-1989. Prior to that, he was Vice President and Controller, U.S. Operations, for Union Bank of Switzerland in New York (1982-1987) and was with Price Waterhouse in New York from 1973-1982.
More Than Stites & Harbison
Harold views community involvement as an honor, a privilege and an obligation. He serves on several boards and committees in support of the arts scene in Louisville. A second passion is economic development. Harold is involved in support of both the local and state chambers of commerce. In April 2011, he will join the board of directors of the Kentucky Chamber. Finding the “answer to cancer” is a significant interest. Harold works as a volunteer fundraiser for the James Graham Brown Cancer Center in Louisville.
While golf and tennis are favorite activities, bicycling is where much of his time away from the office is spent.

Harold enjoys outdoor sports, cooking, entertaining, volunteering on economic development projects and antiquing.
