Laura Bennett joined the firm in 2006. She is an Associate in the firm's Lexington office and a member of the Construction Service Group. Laura represents the interests of owners, contractors and subcontractors in all aspects of the construction process. She also has experience representing clients in the area of corporate general services.
Recent Assignments
- Integral member of team successfully defending a regional healthcare provider against a large multi-state joint operating company. Co-authored brief to State Court of Appeals.
- Assisted with preparing closing documents, coordinating a team of lawyers, and working on the regulatory filings necessary for the purchase of one hospital by another hospital.
Before Stites & Harbison
Laura Bennett was a 2005 summer associate in the Lexington office of Stites & Harbison. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Laura worked as a legal intern for Align Technology, Inc. in Santa Clara, California. Before attending law school, Laura coordinated the annual book awards sponsored by the Koret Foundation in San Francisco, California, while getting her Masters degree in history from Stanford University.
Besides Stites & Harbison
Laura moved to Lexington, Kentucky after marrying a native Kentuckian and fellow Stanford grad. She enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling to visit distant family and friends, and playing with her pugs, Leland and Jane. Despite being a fanatic alumna of Stanford (The Farm), she cheers for UK basketball in order to preserve marital bliss. Laura enjoys reading, writing, live music, and lawyer jokes.
