Stites & Harbison, PLLC

Debbie Lucas is a native of Eastern Kentucky. She moved to Louisville in 1973. After moving to Louisville, she attended Grant Career Training Institute where she learned Data Processing and Computer Software Programs. After graduation, she went to work at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kentucky for two and a half years. In 1978, she came to work for Stites, McElwain and Fowler in the Louisville accounting department. At that time, the firm had only two offices, one in Louisville and one in Frankfort, Kentucky. In 1981, Stites, McElwain and Fowler merged with a firm in Lexington, Kentucky, and became Stites & Harbison. Since 1978, Ms. Lucas has been through two firm moves, three different computer systems and the size of the department has tripled. She became the Accounting Supervisor for the Louisville office in 1995. Since being at Stites & Harbison for 26 years, she has been involved in many changes with the growth of the firm from two to seven locations.

Recent Assignments

• In 2004, Stites & Harbison merged with the firm of Larson & Taylor in Alexandria, Virginia. Ms. Lucas trained the new office employees on the Elite Accounting System software and set up the billing system for the new office.

Ms. Lucas is married and has three children. She loves to travel.
