Alex is a member of the Real Estate & Banking Service Group and the Business & Corporate Services Group. His practice focuses on commercial lending and real estate transactions. He has significant experience representing lenders in connection with secured and unsecured commercial financings, including workouts on behalf of commercial lenders and mezzanine financings. Alex was also a part of the firm's conduit lending team that has closed loans in 47 states. He often represents national lenders in reviewing documentation for compliance with Tennessee law.
Recent Assignments
- Assisted mezzanine lender in the restructuring of senior credit facility and provide an additional subordinated debt facility
- Represented agent/lender in an asset-based co-lending arrangement to refinance partnership-level debt
- Represented a lender in the drafting, negotiating and closing of a financing for an acquisition of numerous dialysis programs
- Represented a lender in the development and construction financing of a 34,000 square foot medical office building
- Represented a lender in a multi-property/multi-loan restructuring
- Led a team in closing over $400 million CMBS financings for national conduit lenders
- Assisted in closing over $300 million in loans to borrowers in Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Kentucky
- Reviewed and negotiated various supply chain contracts and bid contracts and related terms and conditions for the purchase and supply of good, services and raw materials
More Than Stites & Harbison
Alex is on the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House. He has been the Secretary of the Board for the past 2 years and is the incoming chair of the Human Resources Committee. He and his father are the founders of the Nashville Celtics Basketball Association which focuses on mentoring underprivileged kids through the sport of basketball.
Before Stites & Harbison
Alex worked at the Nashville Sports Council as an event manager and planned sporting events ranging from NCAA Tournament games, to NBA basketball games to the AAU Girls Basketball National Championships. Prior to that, he was heavily involved in TNNFL and the NFL-Yes Campaign designed to attract the Houston Oilers professional football team to Nashville.

Alex enjoys spending time with his wife, Isse, and his daughter Hudsyn and son Briggs. He also enjoys exercising, traveling, and playing golf.
