Vance Smith is Counsel to Stites & Harbison and a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group. Mr. Smith has been practicing in the field of intellectual property law for over 30 years nationally and internationally. He has been involved in all phases of intellectual property practice and has written and negotiated over 300 technology license agreements involving companies residing in more than 40 different countries. Vance is a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP™) which acknowledges licensing professionals who have demonstrated their experience and proficiency in licensing and the commercialization of intellectual property.
Vance has served as in-house patent attorney for General Electric, Monsanto, and Brown & Williamson, and is the former General Counsel and Secretary for Rexnord, a Fortune 300 company located in Milwaukee.
