Richard Myers is a Registered U.S. Patent Attorney.  His practice focuses on patent-related aspects of intellectual property, including counseling clients on patent infringement, patent validity, and patentability.  He has more than two decades of experience with the patent prosecution process.  As a former patent examiner and an attorney in the private sector, he has examined or prosecuted over 600 patent applications.  With an academic background in chemistry, Richard's practice primarily focuses on life sciences technology, including a wide variety of chemical and pharmaceutical arts.

While serving as a patent examiner, Richard examined patent applications directed to organic chemical compounds, and their methods of use.  He issued patents to many international companies.

Recent Assignments

  • Assist a major academic research institution's drug discovery program to protect a class of pharmaceutical compounds
  • Successfully defending a stretch wrap film patent through three consecutive reexamination proceedings

He enjoys golf, hiking and other outdoor activities, coaching Little League baseball and rarely misses Ole Miss home football games.
